Essex High School Jazz Orchestra wins the UMass Amherst Jazz Festival 2014

The Essex Jazz Orchestra (EJO) traveled to UMass-Amherst this past weekend as part of their annual high school jazz festival. This festival included some of the best high school bands in New England. The EJO beat out 15 other schools to win the competition, earning them the privilege of opening for world renowned saxophonist, Kenny Garrett. The students taking part were: Ethan Benton, Matt Davis, Dylan Garcia, Caleb Guziak, Ethan Harvey, Neil Hutcheon, Nick Hella, Sean McCullen, Teddy Ninh, Jake O’Connell, Cole Picard, Josh Racine, Viggy Rajendrand, Jacob Smith, Adam Turner, Kyle VanDzura, Keegan Yao, and Alec Zieff.
